New Parish Secretary
Our much valued secretary, Margaret Robbins, is going to retire (more or less!!) at the beginning of April. We are looking for her replacement. The post is offered initially for a few hours for a couple of days a week; hours to be agreed with the priest. Anyone interested would need to be computer literate. Job description and further details will soon be available from the priest. Please contact him if interested.
Christmas Crib visit
There was a Parish visit to the Poor Clares Community, Ty Mam Duw Monastry, Hawarden on the 30 December. The visit included a visit to their famous Crib, newly built every year, and a talk on their history, Carols plus refreshments.
A full 49 seater coach of parishioners set off with great anticipation of our visit to the Poor Clares and we were not disappointed. Although, because of their 800th Anniversary, the crib was not as large as normal but we still had a great spectacle to view. (See slideshow)
Sr Amata greeted us with a warm welcome at the door and Mother Damian gave us a talk on their history and daily life within the walls of Ty Mam Duw.
Starting and finishing with Carols we were also allowed to enter the Sanctuary to view the Crib and Tree up close. After which we retreated to refreshments and browse around the shop.
A good time was had by all. To view a small slideshow please click the photo below.
The earliest date we could achieve for this workshop is Wednesday 14 March, at 2pm in our hall at Llay.
