Divine Mercy Sunday
: On this day Our Lord grants us a great
grace, i.e. “On that day the very depths
of My Tender Mercy are open. I pour out
a whole ocean of graces upon those souls
who approach the Fount of My Mercy.
The soul that will go to Confession and
receive Holy Communion shall obtain
complete forgiveness of sins and
punishment. On that day all the divine
floodgates through which graces flow are
opened”. Our Divine Mercy celebrations
at Llay begin at 2.55pm. Everyone is
welcome. See the notice in the porch.
However, please note that our priest has
to be in the Cathedral for Solemn Vespers
at 3.30pm in memory of Pope Francis.
Because of this the Blessing of the
Image, for which we need the priest, will
take place immediately after 10am Mass.
Everything else will be celebrated in the
normal way, starting at 2.55pm.
Novena of Masses for the repose
of the soul of Pope Francis
These are being celebrated in the
Cathedral (and in many of the Cathedrals
around the world). They began in
Wrexham Cathedral last Monday and the
last to will be celebrated there this
Monday (28th) and Tuesday (29th) at
6pm.
Solemn Evening Prayer (Vespers)
In the Cathedral this Sunday (27th) at
3.30pm. We will be praying there for the
repose of the soul of the Holy Father. All
are welcome to come along and join in
prayer.
Quietness (Reverence) in
Church
Be silent, be thoughtful, and be
reverent, for this is the house of the
Lord. Before Mass speak to God.
During Mass let God speak to you.
After Mass speak to one another, but
quietly, without disturbing those who
are at prayer – ideally in the porch.
